As you already know, I've been heavily working on my platform game engine, which has just been named "Kai/Zen 2D". I'm opening a closed beta I'd like to share with you guys. Who want's to participate?

That looks soooo cool. I would be interested in beta testing that!

I have just tried it. Its vey nice only the controls are very small. I almost click on all 4 together when i try to shoot. When you shoot the character running animation turns to sliding one. You should create a running animation while shooting. Beisde the controls everything else is to tiny. As far as i remember you said you r testing it on a 32" lcd but most guys wont have a 32" lcd in their pocket Test it on a 5" phone and try to scale everything by 3 at least. Game is running shmooth. If u will change the sprites (pipes,..) it could be a very successful game. Good luck

About the engine: Congrats! it's really solid. You've managed to do a platformer engine, wich is quite a dificult task. Everything is ok, no bugs Really love the particles. Professional menu at the left About the game: Maybe it's focused to be played in a tablet, but in a phone (Moto G here) the controls look too small. For a platformer I'd prefer a static d-Pad for the movement instead of an analog stick. Maybe too fast?
Maybe you're aware of it, but need to work on pause and resume: If you press power button and then unlock the phone the game isn't there If you press home button and then switch to the game sometimes it stops and sometimes it restarts.
I like it. I'll test it more...

Thank you so much guys, I'll keep working it on it as much as I can! ilan- The reason I'm having scaling problems is due to all the testing being done on the emulator. I'm getting a real device today, probably a cheap tablet. Hopefully I'll be able to get the controls to have the right size soon. - Yes, there is no run+attack animation. The current sprites are nothing but placeholders. Most likely, all of the sprite will be changed. I'm even considering dropping LibGDX in favor of JPCT (3D). Since I have my own collision detection and physics, I should be able to switch into a 3D renderer without much hassle. @melongz - So far it's not a game, just a game engine. - Yes, the primary target would be tablets, but everything's subject to change or adapt. - One of my personal problems is that I like fast games (hello japanese shmups!), nevertheless I'll try to tone it down a little. - Pause and Resume functions are not implemented at this time.

Hi, I've given this a try on both a 5.2 inch phone and a 10.1 inch tablet. It plays better on the tablet due to the controller size. Did you write the on screen control scheme yourself or is this using a pre-written libgdx library?
Runs really well and the sprite scaling when blocks get destroyed is great.
Being able to edit the level while playing it is a great idea and works really well.
A feature to upload levels to and from other players would be brilliant.

Thank you so much! @andy - The only LibGDX functions in use are Batch.Draw and Vector.Draw, everything else is handmade in B4A and C++. - Yes, level uploading and sharing will be one of the core features. You can save locally though. I've detected a bug, on a real-devices the knight gets stuck at the bottom, if underwater. Can anyone reproduce? You'll have to create a "swimming pool" in the level editor.

UPDATE: - No more buggy water physics. - Detected and solved a huge memory leak (native layer). - Some other native layer optimizations. - Main cycle optimization, it runs even faster now! - I've started to build the loot (power-ups) system. - Added support for slower devices (lowFPS Mode) - Video coming soon.
